I am Rick Yang, a passionate Full Stack Developer with a strong foundation in Computer Science, holding a B.S. and pursuing an M.S. from UCLA. I'm originally from Canton, 🇨🇳, and I currently live in San Jose, CA, 🇺🇸. I speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and I'm learning Japanese.

My work focuses on distributed services and the reliability of machine learning platforms. I still build full-stack web and mobile products end to end, primarily with Python (Flask), Go, and C++ for backend and performance-critical work, React for the client, and PostgreSQL for persistence, grounded in solid software architecture.

I have completed nine hands-on internships, including at BIG TECH companies such as Alibaba, Microsoft, ByteDance, and Nvidia.

Beyond coding, I'm a DJ🎵, an avid traveler 🌠 (10+ countries in 2024), a furry lover 🐱🐶, a designer 🎨, and a strategic gamer 🎮. When it comes to food, I'm all about seafood—especially shrimp 🦐 and oysters 🦪—and I never pass up good sashimi 🍣. I balance my technical pursuits with fitness and outdoor activities.
